Somatic Skills · Nervous System Wisdom
Meaningful change, felt in the body.
When Phase 2 is done well, everything downstream changes. Clients arrive at reprocessing with a nervous system that can hold it. They can notice what is happening inside without being pulled under by it. They have capacity, and they have started to trust it.
Most training treats preparation as the part you move through on the way to the real work. Preparation is the real work.
The internal foundation you build in Phase 2 is what decides whether reprocessing holds. This training is about building it well, and building it in the body.
If you already work with EMDRYou know an extended Phase 2 matters. Doing it is a different thing.
Somatic tools can feel abstract in the moment. You understand interoception and neuroception on paper. Then a client is in front of you, dysregulated, and the map does not quite tell you what to do with your pacing, your language, your own presence in the room.
Understanding the body and knowing how to work with it experientially are not the same skill. One lives in your notes. The other lives in the session.
That gap is where this training lives.
In This Training, You Will Learn How To
Practical, embodied skills you can bring into the room the next day.
Increase Interoceptive Awareness
Help clients notice internal body signals with curiosity and compassion, so sensation becomes information rather than threat.
Understand Neuroception
Support clients in reading cues of safety and danger through exteroceptive, proprioceptive, and interoceptive awareness.
Use Titration & Pendulation
Help clients move toward and away from sensation with more choice, more pacing, and more capacity to stay present.
Build Adaptive Information
Support clients in developing beliefs they can actually feel:
- “I can notice what is happening inside.”
- “I can support my internal experience.”
- “Being connected to my body can feel safer than it once did.”
